When you create an account or use our Service, you provide us with:

- Date of Birth (to verify you are 13 or older)
- Password (encrypted and stored securely)
- Profile Picture (optional)

- Messages to other users

3. Mobile Device Permissions
We may request the following optional permissions:
- Camera/Photo Library: To upload a profile picture. You can deny this permission if you prefer not to have a profile picture.
We do NOT collect:
- GPS location data
- Your actual book files or reading materials

1. With Other Users

- Supabase: For backend infrastructure, database, and authentication
- Sentry: For crash reporting and error tracking
- Open Library: For book metadata and cover images
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

We may disclose your information if required by law or if we believe it's necessary to:
- Comply with legal processes or government requests
- Enforce our Terms of Service

We DO NOT:

Your Privacy Choices and Rights
You have the following rights regarding your information:
1. ACCESS AND UPDATE
You can access and update your account information at any time through your account settings.
2. DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT
You can delete your account at any time through Settings. This will remove your personal information, though some information may be retained as required by law.
3. CONTROL YOUR CONTENT
You can edit or delete reviews, comments, and notes you've posted.
4. MANAGE PERMISSIONS
You can revoke device permissions (camera) at any time through your device settings.
5. DATA PORTABILITY
You can request a copy of your data through Settings > Download My Data.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service.
If you delete your account:
- Most personal information is deleted within 60 days
- Some information may be retained for legal, security, or operational purposes
- Backup copies may exist temporarily but will be deleted in our normal backup cycle
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Security measures include:
- Encryption of sensitive data (like passwords)
- Secure servers with restricted access
- Regular security assessments
- Secure authentication through Supabase
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
We require users to be at least 13 years old and verify age during account creation through date of birth. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information immediately.
